eye of the Huntress

We are an online exhibition series set in imagined rendered spaces all over the globe. With the current restrictions on being able to physically visit international art fairs or venturing out to galleries, we are embracing the latest digital technology now available to present hand-picked works set in a series of stunning locations across the world, creating an immersive experience with beautiful interior and exterior spaces, which allow the viewer to visualize living with art at home. Every three months we aim to bring you a curated collection of the artworld’s most coveted works to enjoy and acquire at the press of a button.  We offer a seamless nail to nail service that includes shipping, insurance and installation from the gallery or studio straight to your home.  We also work with clients to source specific pieces or commission site-specific installations and sculpture.

Laurel Shear

Eye of the Huntress is thrilled to bring you a curated selection of works from California based artist, Laurel Shear.

Shear’s recent works are informed by her studies of energy medicine, specifically Intuition Medicine and the universal healing energies of gold, rose gold and copper. Her new series of collages, Unfolding, makes the invisible visible. She uses metallic fabric to illuminate the healing energies she works with in Intuition Medicine. Shear has been using fabric in her work for its intrinsic beauty, connection to the body and deep roots in painting and art history. To inform her compositions, Shear looks to sacred geometry, choosing patterns and symbols that emphasize our connection with each other and the movement of energy.

Shear utilizes collage as a starting point for her paintings as well, which are a layering of abstract and representation, depiction and embedded emotions, trace and form. The paintings reference experiences - bodily and spiritual - with loss and love. She starts by creating collages of photographs of simple objects with symbolic significance -- her bedspread, roses, tissue paper from her baby shower. Shear writes, “Fully in the moment, I strive to allow my expression and all its contradictions to exist without judgment. In so doing, I get closer to an authentic and unedited representation of these universal and deeply personal symbols and experiences."

Shear completed her MFA at The University of Texas at Austin in 2015. She opened her first New York solo show, Daydreaming In My Nightmare, at Fort Gansevoort in March 2018. Recent exhibitions include, Right Here Right Now at Richmond Art Center and NIAD (Richmond, CA), My Silences Had Not Protected Me and For Freedoms at Fort Gansevoort, (New York, NY), and Where Dreams Come True at TSA LA (Los Angeles, CA). Shear recently earned her Masters of Intuition Medicine ® Certification from the Academy of Intuition Medicine in Sausalito, CA. She is a certified Biofield Tuning and EFT practitioner and proud mama.
